The current population of New York City, according to the most-recent figures available, stands at an awe-inspiring 8,214,426 people.

In 2010, research has revealed, a further 49 million visitors spent time in a metropolis that spreads over 303 square miles, each one jam-packed.

There are more than 80,000 hotel rooms here, some 6,300 bus routes, and a shade over 13,000 licensed taxi cabs.

Given that its tallest building rises 1,250 feet into the skies and its longest road runs almost 150 miles beyond the city’s limits, it’s clear that the Big Apple more than lives up to its name.

New Yorkers aren’t known for underselling themselves, but if anything, the big in Big Apple doesn’t even begin to cover it.

In such an enormous environment, it can be difficult to stand out.

That our OMs are just three inches tall makes their performance over recent days all the more impressive.

You see, our OMs rose to the occasion this week: standing tall, punching above their weight and proving, once and for all, that size isn’t everything.

Their voices might be small, but the OMs have made themselves heard in Manhattan.

The New York International Gift Fair came to an end last night and, it seems, our OMs have made quite an impression on this, their first outing in the big leagues.

They’ve attracted interest aplenty, shining bright like the stars they are, ensuring that for all involved in our debut at the Javits Convention Center, the experience has proved a positive one.

Exposure like this cannot be bought, but it’s more than that.

It has opened our eyes to the things that are achievable, the opportunities that are there to be grasped.

Our heads are spinning, so great are our ideas, so deep our ambition.

It remains to be seen what doors might open as a result of this, but if nothing else, it has proved one thing to us all here in Saunderstown: That there is nothing else quite like an OM.

Exploring the exhibition – all 200 aisles of it, all three floors – we saw some fabulous products, and met artists bursting with talent.

Gosh, the connections!

Inspirational doesn’t come close.

Everyone exhibiting has our utmost respect and unwavering admiration, but you know what?

The OMs more than held their own.

The OMs were at home in this company, if anything, setting themselves apart.

The reason? You.

Great products are great products, but this is more than that, this is a movement.

This thing we have, this is unique.

This is connection.

From America’s smallest state to its biggest city, we’ve travelled a great distance but we don’t intend to stop here.

New York is New York, but this is just the start: as we’ve told you before, right here on our blog, the best things come in small packages.

That doesn’t mean that we don’t aim to make it big because we do.

This – this journey, this experience, this city – cannot fail to help us find our way.

If we’re going to make it right to the top, there could be no better place to launch ourselves than here.

New Yorkers might think they’ve seen everything, but they’ve never seen anything quite like an OM.

Today Manhattan, tomorrow the World.

We are all connected.
