Don't send a Mongoose or a Toad!

Alice in Wonderland, Beetlejuice, Batman, Batman Returns, Edward Scissorhands, Planet of the Apes, Sleepy Hollow, Sweeney Todd, The Nightmare before Christmas and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.
They’re all great movies for sure, among our personal favorites, in fact. But something else links them, something much more specific, a connection more concrete.
The connection is, of course, Tim Burton, amongst the most innovative and stylish film-makers in Hollywood, a true visionary, artist extraordinaire and, in some people’s eyes, at least, a genius.
But what, you might ask, does all this have to do with us?
That’s where it gets interesting, exciting and, like all of Burton’s best offerings on the big screen, a little on the frightening side.
Last week, we promised a big announcement and here it is.
We – that’s us, little old us, here in our studio in Saunderstown, Rhode Island – have been asked to create a unique, never-seen-before, brand-new, one-off OM.
For…..TIM BURTON.
Tim Burton will soon own an OM.
The Tim Burton!
Gosh, don’t we move in some circles these days?
But how, you might ask, has this happened?
It’s all thanks to our involvement at the forthcoming MTV Movie Awards and, in particular, the connections we’ve made as we prepare for our big night on Hollywood’s red carpet.
Connections, eh?  Don’t you just love ’em?!
From the outset, we hoped our participation in one of the biggest events on the showbiz calendar might open some doors.
But not Tim Burton’s.
This, it’s fair to say, is a door beyond our wildest dreams.
Can you imagine, for a moment, what Tim Burton’s door must look like? It has to be huge, at least 15 feet high, wooden with iron studs, dark and foreboding, with a heavy, metal knocker.
There must always be thunder and lightning and fat, pounding rain and the hinges must creak. The door must be opened by a scary-looking butler. Perhaps bats come flying out on the rare occasions that it opens. That’s just the image we have, but then, we have seen lots of Tim Burton movies.
It’s probably – almost certainly, in fact – very nice. But just to be on the safe side, to make sure he fits in, we’ve given our OM a different look, a much darker look, one we’re sure Tim will love. Please take a look and tell us what you think.
We’ve grown rather attached to him.
Like all OMs, though, he has to leave us soon, but what a destination awaits. Goodness, the home that Tim Burton shares with Helena Bonham Carter – his partner, and fellow Hollywood A-lister, seen most recently in The King’s Speech – and their two children. One of those children has, as a Godparent, a certain Johnny Depp, a regular collaborator, close friend and confidante of Tim Burton.
Can you imagine for a single second what it must be like to have Captain Jack Sparrow as a Godparent?
Extraordinary, in our eyes. Just the norm in that household.
But that’s the household that our latest OM is going into and we couldn’t be happier. To think that one day, perhaps not far from now, our OM might come under the admiring gaze of Johnny Depp and his contemporaries simply blows us away.
It thrills us to share this news with you and we’re sure this is just the start.
Please stick with us on our fantastical journey, please support us and, if you haven’t already, please give an OM a home.
After all, you too could share this link – this connection – with the fabulous Tim Burton.
Or, as we like to call him here in Saunderstown,
Tim BurtOM.
