Could you be loved and be loved

There are two ways of spreading light:

to be the candle or the mirror that reflects it.

Edith Wharton

“Forgive me, I did not mean to be rude, I am…Fear.”

Some of you may know that for the last couple of years I’ve been working on a children’s book around my OMs; an origin tale. The manuscript has been written and it’s now out in the world of literary agencies looking for representation.
My book titled: Legends of OM is a whimsical, visual tale of how a new marvel living in the spirit world came to earth to stand by the people, offer them courage and help them defy fear.  Fear, a dark character in the story, has come to earth and indiscriminately spawns gloom and spreads his darkness.

The people need guidance, earth needs balance, and the darkness needs light.
With their lights of courage blazing OMs rip through the cosmos and zoom to Earth to help the people defy Fear and his darkness for eternity.

It’s a bit synchronistic.  Not only is fear the main character in my story he’s also the main character in life at the moment.  He seems to be spreading rapidly these days, growing in the darkest part of the consciousness.
I am certainly not immune to him; he’s trying to live freely in my home, I feel his presence amongst my friends and I’m up against him in many conversations.

Having experienced crisis and peril in my own life, I have become well aware of fear’s presence, darkness and tricks, and I am grateful for him.  Without fear I would not have found my courage.

“Courage is not the absence of fear, but the triumph over it.”  Nelson Mandela

I am the candle who spreads light in our home, especially for the sake of my girls. I want them to internalize it, reflect it and become stronger from it, to grow through fear and be able to reveal his flimsy nature.

As adults we are the most influential factors for our children experiencing crisis and peril and I think we can all agree there is no better background for showing courage than during times such as these.

By all of us being candles today we are helping our children become the candles of tomorrow.

If there was ever a time to allay fear, worry, anxiety…it would be now and it can be done in so many ways; keep the media at a minimum, listen to fun positive music, read inspirational books, learn meditation, practice breathing techniques, prayer, yoga, clear thinking.

“Grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference.”
Reinhold Niebuhr AMERICAN THEOLOGIAN
